Oh well
Okay, so when I first loaded this page, it was accompanied by a long, melodramatic rant about how my computer was acting up again and how it might affect my getting pages done and wah wah wah... Well, in the couple of days since I wrote that, I've been able to build up a pretty decent stack of buffer material, AND discovered that all my "I don't know anybody up here to help fix my computer" fears were vastly over-inflated. Thus, I'm replacing that whining with something a little less dramatic.

...I'm not sure what that'd BE though... OH! RIGHT! The new Voting Incentive series kicks off in earnest today! So go vote on Top Webcomics and see what the fuss it about!

Actually, there IS another thing: who was annoyed when DrunkDuck crashed AGAIN and screwed up all the random image files? Well, I sure was, and that FINALLY provided the incentive for me to finish setting up this page as an independent entity from DD. Of course, as with any move, there's a chance that I might have done some stuff wrong, so if you see any links that don't work, don't be afraid to let me know about it!

One thing I like about this comic - the weird culture it has. Demotivational and suicide cults being mainstream entertainment, along with brain slug wrestlers (Why and I having Animorphs flashbacks?)
Traveling out into space and finding absolutely nothing must have really depressed the entire human race to the point where this sort of stuff seems to be mainstream. It also explains why mad scientists seem to be so keen on destroying the universe.
I'm going to vote for this in 2 hours, and try and bring it back up a rank, after it slide down one.
EDIT: or two, after it slide down again.

I was going to say before that I like the idea of salmon bars. I'd buy them if they existed.

But "Salmon doesn't go there" is the best line I've seen anywhere in a long time! WHERE the flagnar is Megaweapon putting...

And it looks like Kevin's way of dealing with Megaweapon is obliviousity (yes, I just made that up). But that seems to be his default state, anyway.

Blitzkrieg1701, June 14th, 2011, 12:11 am

@Stonefoot: I am remaining deliberately ignorant on where exactly those salmon bars are going (partially because I hate the thought of good seafood going to waste)

Also, as we've seen previously, apparently the power of TV is enough to keep him from noticing a small child GNAWING ON HIS HAD, so I'd say that's about right :D

@fluffy: I don't really know if this warped future culture is even THAT different from what we've got now; just a little more extreme, maybe. I like to think of it as an age where The Internet rules everything (a TERRIFYING thought)

Well, I don't see suicide dolls and demotivational cults on tv these days, well, the channels I watch at any rate.
It must be a sad state if this sort of thing is entertaining to watch. Hell, Digimon Season 5 would probably more entertaining to me that brain slug wrestlers, and I found that boring. I actually enjoyed all the Digimon cameo's that popped up. I remember when Geogreymon made his debut - I went back a page to make sure and then spent a fair bit of time laughing at it - just because it was so unexpected.

Blitzkrieg1701, June 14th, 2011, 2:02 am

Oh man, if I'm involved, the unexpected thing would be for there to be NO Digimon cameos :D

(You're right, though; Season 5 was a real let-down. I like the new one better, though)

Season 6? You have got to be kidding. Then again, I only really enjoyed the first 3, 4 was a bit odd, I only saw bits and pieces of 5, and didn't like it much, seen the first few episodes of 6 and its probably the same as 4...

Ontopic, Layla just can't seem to get a break with a guy. Either he's more interested in the TV, else he uses little kitty's in cruel experiments.

I'll try to rein myself in from kicking off a long, long discussion on Digimon (seriosuly, we could be here for DAYS) and limit my comments to this: I still like seasons 1 and 3 (especially 3) the best, but I really do think 6 is a return to form (and it's really not like 4 at all)

Anyway, comic stuff: If Kevin starts watching a TV show about brains, we'll know the universe is just playing with Layla :D
