Seriously, what is WRONG with the boys in this comic?

Well, okay, to be fair to Trigger, we DO have to remember that Webcomic Time is in effect here. To the rest of us, Skye hasn't even been seen for months, let alone actually DONE anything, so it seems like the height of folly for Trigger to still be so hug up on her that he doesn't even notice Jenna. But to HIM, all that was just a day or two ago, so he's still freshly smitten... but it's probably still the height of folly. At the very least, I do feel genuinely bad for Jenna. That poor girl just can't catch a break, can she?

That said, I DO really like how this page turned out. I probably went a little overboard on the shading in the main panel, but Trigger's going a little overboard himself, so why should I hold back?

And as always, go vote to see the continuing adventures of everyone's favorite mad science family!

Lovey-dovey scenes should always be sparkley and flowery and bubbley and stuff!

Ooh! Sparkles!

and, yeah, height of folly.... But, starting from about the time we notice girls, the height of folly gets to be very familiar territory. Until, uh, well some of us never do leave.

Now, how long has it been since Trigger met Skye? It was when they arrived for the mad scientists' convention, which puts it about 4 to 6 days ago. (On Feb. 20, 2009: http://faroutthere.smackjeeves.com/comics/1065777/page-127-you-never-know-who-youll-meet-a t-these-things/) So, Jenna, hang out with him and it may be you he's smitten with in a couple of days. (Which we should get to, around, oh, Labor day?)

Not broken link?!
It looks for all the world like the comment parser broke the link to that comic, but if you click it it works. Weird!

Also, that is where WE first see Skye. She and Trigger don't meet for a while after that.

Dude, I gave up trying to understand SmackJeeve's attitude toward links a WHILE ago (which is kind of sad, actually, 'cos I really liked being able to link to whatever page I was doing a callback to)

But really, six days is probably pushing it. While I'm still trying to keep the exact amount of time ambiguous (because who can say how long a "day" is on that planet) the entire convention probably took place in less than 48 hours, SIGNIFICANTLY less if we take into consideration that no one seems terribly sleepy at the end. If we slip an extra night between pages 305 and 306, that MIGHT bit Trigger and Skye's meeting around four days before the "present". The point is, it's MUCH less time to him than it's been to us.
