...and that something is a feeling of scornful supiriority
If you're drawing a blank on who they're talking about, go back to Page 66 or so. I realize the recognition probably would have kicked in more easily if I'd gone through the trouble of actually drawing Frank in detail... but this is another page I finished in a panic while Hurricane Irene loomed. Yes, I'm milking that excuse as long as I can.

Also, Ichabod's adventure on The Deadly Station of Deadly Doom kicks off in earnest today, so go vote for Far Out There on TWC to see it!

Well, apparently Frank has a way with people.
A way that makes them realise that he's a jerk, etcetera, etcetera.

The incentive, well, from this, I get the impression that it should be good. Will we see how he hired the captain?
And is the petition against Tax the character Tax that we have such fond memories of? (Probably not, since taxes seem more threatening than her. Unless you count her as being in close proximity to Stilez all the time. Although I do think that she is scarier...)
And, Ichabod's reasoning against getting a ship reminds me of my reasonings against getting a car. Except mine would have worked so much better if where I live I didn't have to walk to the next town to catch a bus... So, now I do own a car.

One more thing, the transport seems suspiciously like a word commonly used to describe the sound of certain birds. I am unsure if that is better or worse than if it was suspiciously cheap.

And stuff.

I have a question. I won't be around or rather, not have internet access for quite a while. Is there any way to catch up on previous voting incentive comics? So that I can read the voting incentives when I get back. :D

Every previous Voting Incentive is collected in the Incentive Gallery. Just go to the "other goodies" section and there it shall be! (I can't guarantee the Station of Deadly Doom pages will always be completely up to date, but I'll do my best)

"New Petition Against Tax" is a shout out to any number of cheesy B-movies. Most of the times that a movie in the 50s needed to zoom in on a dramatic, plot-related headline, they would use this template page thing where they could insert their own headline. They all seemed to use the same one, though. So if you watched too many of these movies, you'd notice that all these news papers, regardless of headline, had the same articles underneath. Namely, "New Petition Against Tax" and "Building Code Under Fire". MST3k loved to point these out.

Also, I'm sure it won't surprise you to know that I didn't get a driver's license until my mid-20s. Right?

Haven't seen them in a long time.
Hey, now Layla has something to talk (complain) about that Kevin will actually listen and contribute to!

And why is someone being eaten by Kirby's fish friend?!

Blitzkrieg1701, September 6th, 2011, 6:19 pm

Hey, if YOU had a chance to messily devour Frank, wouldn't you?

...actually, probably not. Somebody that spoiled would probably taste nasty.

CarrotSticks, September 6th, 2011, 9:54 pm

Are you kidding me? He probably tastes like the richest of cuisines...
... Or like lots of chicken, and probably cheese too, knowing Frank. ._.

Blitzkrieg1701, September 7th, 2011, 2:14 am

Actually, if page 291 is to be believed, he probably tastes like Garlic Dolphin Chips.

Doesn't surprise me to hear that about your driver's license.

And clearly, I must watch more B-movies. Any to recommend, or should I just pick one at random?

And man, I wish I could actually watch MST3k. I've only seen a couple episodes.

Blitzkrieg1701, September 7th, 2011, 1:14 pm

It's extremely easy to find episodes online, either officially (Netflix and Hulu) or by fans (YouTube and Google Video have a TON of episodes that aren't on DVD)

Also, if you want to see a list of movies that use this newspaper bit, check out: http://mst3k.wikia.com/wiki/New_Petitions_Against_Tax
