January must be the month of big, sloppy sound effects
Once again, time constrains have resulted in me posting a comic that I would otherwise have held back for further editing. No backgrounds, sloppy art, and so on and so forth. But with the big MAGFest Conventional Wisdom update looming, I had to get this done as soon fast as possible... and "as fast as possible" was still two and a half hours late.

Still, one of those things I didn't fix kind of worked out. I'd intended Megaweapon to look a little like toothpaste that just got squeezed out of the tube, not like he just got shot out a cannon. But you know what? I think it's actually funnier this way. YAY! One less thing to feel bad about! Also, at least I didn't forget any words this time.

I bet you I DID forget a word or two in todays Voting Incentive, 'cos there's a LOT of 'em.

And speaking of a lot of words, don't forget to go by The Forum and contribute to the FAQ discussion. It's kind of devolving into a general Q & A session, but that's still really useful. Anything that gives me an idea of what people want to know is good. Plus, it's just fun talking to you guys!

Ahh... Slippery goop. Perfect for escaping from someone's grip. Not so perfect for trying to catch someone. Also, may cause people to want to have a shower.

Concerning Incentive: Nothing can resist. Except Avatar, of course :P
Also, as far as I'm concerned really obnoxious noises are definitely classified as a form of attack.

But, concerning time bombs, something that has always bugged me in a lot of fiction is people speeding up time in an area, and having a person or creature in it just aging faster. They don't actually move any faster like you'd expect. In most cases you'd expect them to be able to escape from the effects within a couple minutes at most, and for the people outside it should appear that they escaped within the first second or so. Of course depending on how it was done the forces involved in actually moving outside of a bubble of accelerated time could very well kill you. Still, if you have that kind of temporal manipulation, it would be better to either accelerate yourself or allies so that you are too fast for them to do anything about, or to slow them down so much that you have days for every second or so of theirs, and thus they aren't much of a threat. Even if they can escape within a couple of seconds, you'd still have days to do whatever it was that you wanted to do.
Of course, if you really wanted to be mean (and have a possibly gruesome way of killing your unfortunate victim) you'd have time move faster for some parts of them (say, heart, head), but much slower for other parts (like the limbs). Also could be used as a form of torture that would probably be quickly outlawed in most places.

See, it's stuff like that which contribute to Ichabod's lack of conviction regarding the possibility of such things.

(Though, I must confess I actually hadn't thought of the "why don't they move faster instead of just aging" part before. That's a really good point.)
