Hey look! I drew all the "panels" separately again! ...and the page was many hours late again as a result! man, you'd think that doing "flashback vision" in (mostly) black or white would save time, but not after the inking process takes four times as long. Which reminds me, I'll bet top dollar that some really silly typos managed to slip into this page, seeing as how I wrote out this dialog at 6 am and all. Please, do NOT hesitate to point out anything I missed, it's seriously the only way I'll ever notice this sort of thing.

Anyway, I know this has been mentioned on other occasions, but Lil' Layla really is the most impossibly adorable thing every created... although Drooling Baby Trigger does give her a run for her money.

...aaaaaaand then there's the latest Killer Station of Deadly Doom, which is pretty much as far as you can get from cute right now. Enjoy your mood whiplash!

Oh man, Killer Layla is... something else. :D

First panel Layla looks like the most discontent I've seen her while she was with Trigger. (Not the most annoyed with seen her by the looks of it though)

You know, if I commented to a child that they were the most beautiful or cutest or something and they readily agreed with me, I'd probably start wondering if it was too late to start backing away slowly.

Concerning how it all went wrong... You know us well :)

Incentive: "Why yes. And since it seems that that is the look that you were going for, I must say that you pulled it off rather well."

Concerning typos: Well, the page looked alright as I read through it, but you may have a typo in the title... Unless you meant to use an archaic form of a word meaning storage/storeroom?

Blitzkrieg1701, August 21st, 2012, 6:47 am

Yeah, I actually DID notice that typo... after I'd already posted the link in various places. Smackjeeves includes the page title in the address, so I think if I change it now, the links won't work. (Maybe in a day or two when there's a different "newest page" link to go around)

Also, that first panel was by far the trickiest to get right. The rough draft was FAR more disgruntled, but it just seemed... wrong. Even if he;s slobbering all over her hair, Trigger is still trigger and Layla is still Layla, so there's no way she's going to get THAT mad. It's more that she's unhappy about the situation. No doubt Daddy's off on some exciting caper while she's stuck at home with the kid.

I don't think the baby sitting was actually busywork. Probably none of the members of an organization like that would have any empathy or patience dealing with young Trigger. Without Layla to babysit they would have had to find someone who was good with children, kidnap them, and guard them the whole time. That would have tied up at least three people, plus there's the cost of feeding and housing the babysitter. Clearly much more efficient to have Layla do it for free.

Actually, yeah. Layla IS selling herself a bit short regarding the importance of her watching Trigger. She probably knows this NOW, and is just telling us what she thought of it THEN.

i could try and figure it out but i know i would be wrong.
