This page has grown on me the more I've worked on it. At first, I was really annoyed at how it's almost all exposition without any real jokes, but now I don't mind that as much. Maybe I'm just infected by Layla's obvious enthusiasm in the last panel. Darn it, this is EXCITING!

Then again, maybe I'm just too wrapped up in other stuff to worry about that. By the time most of you read this, I'll be up in Rockville for Intervention, which brings up an unfortunate face. once again, I've had to punk out on the Voting Incentive. It's especially frustrating since, unlike most conventions, I DIDN'T leave sometime Thursday, so technically I COULD have gotten one done before leaving. But with all the packing and other preparations I have left to do before catching my train in the morning, I really needed to hurry up and get this update over with. Oh well, at least it's at a cool cliffhanger right now, right?

Oh, and just to beat you clever nitpickers to the punch: yes, I realize its AVATAR who wants to hear all this, Ichabod would much rather Layla just skip to the end. From the looks of things, though, Ichabod realizes that arguing the point would just drag things out even more. A man has to know his limitations.

I laughed at the method for hiring another group being saying "please?" with a little girl hiding behind :P
I enjoyed all the little doodle thingy pictures on this page.

Hope the con goes well for you.

Part of me thinks he should have been holding Layla in his lap there, so that the scientist would be too overwhelmed by her adorableness to resist... but it would have been too hard to draw.

Now I'm imagining Layla in his lap, being stroked like Blofeld's cat.

Layla's just too happy in that last panel. :D

Don't you hate it when you're trying to tell a really interesting story to an unenthusiastic person/crowd?

Antonio (Guest), September 23rd, 2012, 8:46 pm

He refused to argue a point?!
Who is this and what has he done with the nitpicker?

Also, just realized that Seros Senric probably means your convention, but at first it looked like he was saying that to Layla.

CarrotSticks, September 23rd, 2012, 11:43 pm

Ichabod clearly finds Layla impossible to reason with.

A good Nitpicker knows when to nitpick HIMSELF... well, no. Actually, most nitpickers aren't anywhere NEAR as self-aware as they want you to think they are. But still, in this case, Ichabod has reminded himself that picking a fight with Layla would be a fruitless endeavor and is sparing himself the frustration.
