...and then the wacky comic relief characters bursts in to say a catchphrase, everyone laughs, and the credits start rolling.

So, yeah. Another REALLY late night/early morning update. This one was entirely out of my hands, I'm afraid. It was already after midnight before I even got home from work. Still, I think this one turned out pretty darned well, considering. I especially like Avatar's expression in the last panel. The girl's barely had anything to do during this little story, but she keeps managing to steal the spotlight without even trying.

Oh, and new Voting Incentive! I actually remembered to post a link this time! Go me!

...and now, I sleep. *yawn*

Augh.. How many did I miss? Two? Three? Damn real-life, work and assignment-due-dates and all that other stuff that happened interfering with my schedule.
Usually I'd say something about the missed updates, but I'm too tired to concentrate.

Layla looks like she's trying to look angelic or something at the end there. Enjoyed Avatar's and Trigger's expressions. Ichabod looks a little like he isn't convinced about something. Or maybe he's just wondering about his sudden lack of a mouth.

Incentive: Is amusing.
Ichabod seems to know more about guns than I expected.
I like the Sudden Realisation panel. And yeah, I wouldn't want to either. They're much too scary.

Also, this either just occurred to me or I'm so tired I can't remember any of my previous thoughts concerning it (or both), but did you make it 'cold' on the station just so you could give Ichabod a scarf reminiscent of The Doctor's? (Although it isn't anywhere near that long)

That is extremely sweet, and extremely well done, but I can't help but think the effect is ruined somewhat by the fact that she's basically saying it herself. So, obviously, the thing to do was come and ruin it for everyone else in the same way. You're welcome.

Also, Mr. Blitzkrieg1701, sir. Topwebcomics.com is broken for me. Is it for you too? Could you check that out?

I can imagine Trigger trying to watch Jane Austen movies... Hoo boy...

Also, I believe your art is getting smoother.

As expected of Ichabod, nonchalant as always.

A bit surprised at Avatar's reaction though; for someone who has lived for so long, she (it?) has either had only bad things happen to her in her entire life or has no gone through the records of "typical happy endings".

Trigger...well no surprise there; Layla must have avoided the father past story when she hung out with him in the past.

If Ichabod is still half the nitpicker he is, I anticipate pure insensitivity and plenty of nitpicking. Then again if he were a nitpicker with a desire to live a long life, I suppose he will avoided talking about sugary deaths around Layla from now on. XD

PS: My bad for double posting but didn't grammar nazi on my previous post so there are some mistakes in the comments. (NITPICKED!)

@Seros Senric: Welcome back, friend!

You're half right about the scarf thing. That outfit was originally designed for the Mad Science Convention, and Doctor resemblance was just a happy accident. BUT, when that arc ended anc I realized I missed the outfit, I did indeed throw in the bit about the Killer Station's temperature so I could bring it back (also I had a sudden urge to draw Mooney all bundled up in winter gear)

@Antonio: TWC seems to be working fine now. Sometimes the site goes down randomly, which I don't really have any control over. Sorry!

Also, you raise an interesting point. This scene would have been a lot more awkward to pull off if all this was voiced. Hearing Layla trying to do her Dad's voice would be WEIRD. I'm glad we just have text to read.

@CarrotSticks: I certainly hope it is, I've been spending about twice as long drawing the stuff.

Also, yes. That Trigger is just a big ol' softie. :)

@Stick: I suspect Layla just avoided discussing business around Trigger whenever she could, since she knew deep down that he wouldn't approve of it. Also, keep in mind that Trigger DID know Layla's Dad (see Layla's scrapbook in the Incentive Gallery for more)

Regarding Avatar, she does tend to be more well-adjusted than any of us would be in her situation. Or at least she ACTS like she is...

Antonio (Guest), October 19th, 2012, 5:39 pm

@Blitzkrieg1701: Well, if it was voiced, I'd just cheat and have it cut away to an acted scene with some actual dude ('s voice) for her dad, on the understanding that the characters are not hearing it, it is only for our benefit. But that's just me.

Also, yeah, I got the incentive now. I just thought I'd tell you in case it had been a more general thing. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalso, I feel I missed the last one, and so I checked and realized that the gallery has not been updated in forever or so. Thus, may I ask, why o why hast thou forsaken us?!

Edit: Also, I think it's funnier if you assume Trigger had heard the story many times before, and reacts like that every time (and will continue to do so).

Blitzkrieg1701, October 19th, 2012, 11:45 pm

What the- AWW, POOPIE! I meant to update the gallery, like, a WEEK ago! Sorry, guys. I seriously thought I'd already done that. See? This is why it always helps to mention things!

(and you're right. That TOTALLY is the sort of thing Trigger would do)

Stick (Guest), October 20th, 2012, 1:06 pm

@Antonio: LOL. Then Trigger will be the ideal human. Every time he experience something good, it will be like his first time. XD

Awwwww. [sorta]
