So, it's another really late page, but you know what? This time I don't feel bad about it. The whole reason this page took so long was because, for the first time in a WHILE, I finally got to draw each panel separately. The deconstructed pile of computer panels looks a LOT better than the mound of cables we saw last week. Speaking of which, the lighting tricks in the last panel turned out a lot better than where Trigger and Avatar were working earlier. It's not perfect (I didn't think one screen would light up the whole mess enough for it to be clearly seen, but mixing the pure while light from the emergency lamp with the green got kinda messy) but it's the most visually interesting thing we've had around here in a long time.

So... Will Layla get to hear how the story ends?

So, the theory of 'absorbing everything over a certain level' turned out to be correct...

....Wait... Is the Cap'n hugging Ichabod in that last panel?
Sure, he may want help moving around... But wouldn't that make it awkward to move around?

Incentive: Can't lock the door, and pushing furniture in front of it doesn't seem like it'll help.

he's just leaning on Ichabod for support/make sure he doesn't hit something.

Also, feel like mentioning, Energy Eating Thing looks so sad in that second graph.

Also, how long has it been since we've had a decent wall-of-text?

Wait, why does Avatar look confused at the contraption in the last panel? Didn't she help (un)make it? Or is it some sort of foreshadowing that I am ruining right now?

Also, shouldn't Layla's "honest" be "honestly"?

D'OH! And THAT'S the danger of doing these text heavy pages: it increases the danger of typos.

I'm not sure where Avatar looks "confussed" though. You mean where the hair comes down in front of her eye? I... GUESS that does kind of look like an arched eyebrow. (Avatar's hair in general gave me more trouble than usual in that panel)

Wait. I remember seeing this yesterday but no witty comment from me?

I must really have been off my game.

All said, I somehow do not find this development too unexpected.

With regards to the energy eating thing, I must say it's probably the perfect example of something existing to make us waste space; considering how very small amounts of energy can be concentrated in a fixed space at any one time, forcing any high powered equipment to require its components to be stretched up for miles just to function.

Typical mad scientist creation, though.

Ah, I see. You are doing the "traslucent hair" thing, like Team Rocket, right?
I had thought that was her eyelid line. Sorry about that.

Yay! Power!

There are certain phrases that I find far more amusing than may be healthy.

"the unique genre of Speculative Accounting."

"Suddenly llamas."

"Ruthless missionaries."

"The couch started going into labor" just made the list.
