The REAL reason Avatar is skipping around is 'cos she's happy to actually have more than one line this time!

So... for about two seconds, Layla's line in the third panel was going to be "But how come I'M not bouncing?". Thankfully, I soon realized LAYLA IS FORBIDDEN TO SAY THINGS LIKE THAT UNTIL SHE CHANGES HER CLOTHES.

Speaking of clothes, we haven't mentioned Avatar's robe in the comic for a while, so a quick refresher: the robe is made from a material roughly as indestructible as she is, so it's the only clothes she feels comfortable wearing around. The inconvenience of it not fitting is outweighed by uncomfortable feeling of wearing an outfit that, to her, feels like it could be blown off by a sneeze (Yes, we've seen Avatar is other outfits, but those were either during non-canon comics or Pajamas, which don't really coun't as "clothes" anyway.)

And last but most certainly not least, there's a new Killer Station of Deadly Doom which I honestly think may be the best looking page of the whole story so far. You are encouraged to go check it out.

R.I.P. Superdad. Thou shallt be missed.

Unless that was all a lie, of course.

Yes, well avatar, you have a child's body, so it wouldn't turn heads, unlike Layla who really should have shattered triggers innocent world by now, it also amuses me how avatar keeps looking at Layla in that disturbed fashion.
For the record, I'm amused you didn't fashion the helmet to allow for Layla's pig tails, and I look forward to the story getting on the way, it would be a shame if the air tight suit gag was worn out.

Antonio: *bites tongue to avoid giving anything away one way or the other*

A Fan: Well, Trigger and Layla are so intensely brother/sister-like that lust wouldn't enter into the equation even if Trigger WEREN'T a pure as the driven snow.

Also, T BRIEFLY considered a more hair-friendly helmet, but seeing it all smooshed up seemed funnier (and easier to draw, honestly)

And don't worry, this was the last "harhar, look at these silly costumes" pages. The action's about to pick up.

Whenever I'm late with a comment I feel like I should apologise. Then I feel like I might feel silly for apologising. Well, I tend to only miss it only for rather important things anyway.

I'm sure the first panel of this page has something to say about the last panel of page 342.

Avatar looks happy in low g. I get the feeling that she enjoys it more than 0g or 1g.
And it's good to see reasons for clunky stuff in the suit :P

Until otherwise specified, I choose to believe that Avatar's Hoppy Feet Jim Jams are 20% Ortepolymer, the other 80% being a combination of cotton and something akin to carbon nanotubes.

Incentive: I knew it.
What are the chances we'll get a cutaway to Ichabod next time?

If we had a voting system, I would up vote for Avatar having a tight fitting outfit too! XD

Not that she needs it anyway.

Now to get used to seeing Apl in red and a odd costume...

SS: You know, I ALMOST included an extra line where Avatar explained that the ship was slightly less uncomfortable with the gravity nearly off... but I figured readers with good memory would be able to piece that one together on their own. Looks like I was right!

Stick: Well, it looks like everyone's managed to get used to Alphonse not having big, pointy ears (Did ANYBODY notice those have been missing for a while?)

Antonio (Guest), May 5th, 2013, 5:46 pm

I just assumed the ears were under the hat, actually. Because, you know, big hat.

So you are saying the hologram does not have any ears? Because I'm thinking that Thabitha designed it, and she ALSO designed his normal body, so if she does not like her original design he may get a little nervous breakdown upon noticing, don't you think?

Blitzkrieg1701, May 5th, 2013, 7:31 pm

It's because, technically speaking, those aren't "really" his ears. The same glitch in the zombification process that prevents Alphonse and Bridget from speaking also left their ears in non-working order. The gray, point things are external devices that supplemental the decayed auditory organs (future hearing aids, basically). Because this is just a projection, though, Tabitha was able to just drop the extra gear and give him real ears (which are completely covered up by his shaggy hair, ironically) Someone was supposed to mention this right after holo-Alphonse appeared, giving Tabitha a chance to finally explain the ear stuff in-universe... but there was already too much standing around and talking going on, so I had to drop the sequence, leaving the ears unexplained. (until now)
