That last panel confounds me on several levels. On the one hand, it turns out it's REALLY had to express "what the heck?" through body language when that body's eyes are covered up. What's more, part of me really didn't want to HAVE that panel and just end the page on "WHAT THE CRAP, DID ALPHONSE JUST GET EATEN?" In the end, it seemed like a dumb idea since any tension that "cliffhanger" might generate would be immediately shrugged off when we finally DID see him okay and mildly confused... and that's assuming there was any tension in the first place. I mean, let's be honest here. You all KNOW I'm too much of a softie to let anything bad happen to sweet widdle Alphonse, so why even pretend otherwise?

Anyway, in case you missed it, there was a special Independence Day page yesterday, so be sure to take a look at that. Also, if all goes well over the weekend, we should have new Voting Incentives starting again on Tuesday! WAHOO!!!

The machine eats energy, Alphonse was a projection made of energy. He was probably in the most danger from that thing. At this point, we know Alphonse is ok but Layla and Avatar don't...

Congrats on a successful move.

Selective energy eating: Eat everything, but spits out the cap.

Note: It's all made out of the same energy. Scumbag energy consuming monster.

Yeah, there's about 3,4678,946 separate ways in which this turn of events doesn't make sense, but that's Mad Science for you.

Ok...we has giant energy enemy monster.
WHERE IS THE WEAKPOINT ON THAT THING!?

Fortunately, this is rated E, otherwise it WOULD be dangerous to him.
