It's a little thing, but I'm quite pleased with how the innards of the spiky thing turned out. Granted, it's hardly the most elaborate piece of artwork I've ever done, and it makes no sense if you think about them for more than a second ("So, it's a solid mass of technology? Then... where was the GIANT DISRUPTOR CANNON before it shot out?") but I still kinda like the feel of it.

...and now WE ALL HAVE TO THEORIZE WHAT'S UP WITH THE MYSTERIOUS MISSING PIECE! (also, free points to whoever can identify the obscure, nerdy reference in this page)

Moving on, we of course have a new Voting Incentive for everyone's enjoyment. ALSO, a reminder! Be sure to tune in Thursday for a special extra Halloween page! Yes, I enjoy doing th ese.

Is there a word missing from the Captain's speech bubble? Should he be saying "... I should be angry that ..." or something to that effect?

Grammar squirrels strike!

Well dang, that's a rather crucial word to leave out, isn't it?

Fun fact: one of the easiest ways to make a lot of things overheat is to put them in a vacuum. Suddenly, conduction and convection as methods of heat rejection go right out the airlock. Most devices built for in-atmosphere use (eg, laptops and laser weapons) will cook themselves in outer space.

So you could have made the art on this page a lot easier:

Avatar: "This kind of plasma gun uses on board fans to cool itself. Since life support is off, it couldn't regulate its temperature and it overheated."

Layla: "Wait, if there's no air, how was it making all that noise?"

Avatar: "You were actually hearing vibrations transmitted from it through your boots by means of the floor."

Layla: "It must have been ridiculously loud."

Avatar: "Plasma cannons require ridiculous amounts of energy."

Keep it in mind next time, and you won't have to make up a techno babble doohicky to explain why it dun broke. ;D

(I love the comic, but when one of the protagonists is a professional nitpicker, I guess I feel like I have the right to offer hopefully constructive criticism a lot)
