I have no idea how Stilez knew where Ichabod's ship was. Maybe her sense of smell is really good.

I'm also not that thrilled with Stilez's arm in the second panel. I was trying to do some perspective wonkery, with it the arm being all in your face and stuff. Instead, I think it just turned out looking all stubby, with the hand even more too-big than they usually are. Oh well.

Anyway, I'll be in Baltimore for Otakon by the time this page goes online, but unless I screwed something up with the files on Thursday, there's should be a fresh Voting Incentive waiting for you all (and if you just so happen to BE at Otakon, keep an eye out for me and say hi!)

Now I'm sure Stilez definitely has a crush on Ichabod. ;)

Even worse, when he calls his boss who usually bails him out of this sort of mess, they can just cite the "Stilez Not Our Problem" clause.

Also - vote incentive(s) - Tabitha has got to be using some sort of Mad Scientist-ish mind control or something, there's no way Layla would be voluntarily wearing these, ahem, 'uniforms'. Although, apparently, even the mind control isn't strong enough to get her to cheer. Even mad science has its limits.

Naw, Tabitha doesn't need mind control. She just needs to use Being Layla's Friend. It doesn't matter how stupid she thinks the costumes are, Layla really values the fact that Tabitha is someone who actually LIKES spending time with her.

Friendship! Oh no, it's even worse than I suspected. That's the most insidious mind-control method ever, worse than any mad science. You can't even imagine all the crazy stuff people have got other people to do over the years using that! ;)

Seros Senric (Guest), July 24th, 2015, 10:30 pm

One of the reasons that makes it the most insidious is that it never shows up as mind-control on any of the standard mind-control detection methods.

...with an unusually large fan base of adult males, known as "Hypnobros"

I can see what the problem with the arm is. Instead of doing the more difficult "grows as it comes closer to the screen", you accidentally made three layers of Stillez in panel 2. One for her body, one that both her head and her arm are in (though we're basically focusing on the arm), and one for her fist.

Basically, Stillez's shoulder is a little bit larger than normal, her arm's the same size all along, and her fist just massively grows from practically "nothing". Of course, I'm nowhere near the artist you are (horrifying scribbles or bad diagrams is my limit), so I can't really guess how much you struggled/tried to fit it to do the three layers it currently has.

I find it increasingly hard to believe that you DON'T want us shipping Layla and Tabitha.

Blitzkrieg1701, July 27th, 2015, 11:22 am

DD: Yeah, you summed it up pretty well. Since the size doesn't increase consistently, the arm just looks misshaped & stubby. Also, I really should have added some shadows in that panel, to add a greater sense of depth.

A: Hey, you guys can ship whatever you feel like shipping. For all my tongue-in-cheek complaining, I know better than to think anyone can tell a fandom what to do. :)

(I just always want to make clear what my own intentions were as the writer of this thing)

You know what? I'm going to start shipping Stilez and Ichabod. Not because they make a cute couple or anything. I just want to make Ichabod that much more uncomfortable with the situation.
