If she hadn't looked around and noticed where she was, Stilez would have floated there forever.

Apparently Stilez has Wile E. Coyote's relationship with gravity. In fact, that could explain ALL of Stilez's powers. Instead of super strength, she's just infused with the powers of slapstick!

Also, I'm afraid to look back for whatever comic we last saw one of the lifts in, 'cos I'm just SURE the buttons were totally different from what I drew here. Also, why is there even gravity in this shaft? Wasn't it previously established that the Exposition's gravity was generated by plates in the floor?

Anyway, there's a new Patreon comic up for all you cool, awesome, generous supporters. In fact, there was SUPPOSED to be a bunch of Patreon Far Out There stuff. I'd hoped to get the first Far Out There Mad Lib comic up today (Remember that? People who pledge $5 or more get to help write short comics!) Alas, I had to go back and rewrite some of it, and then this update had a bunch of weird technical difficulties, and it ended up not getting done. It WILL be up sometime next week, though. Plenty of time for you to become a supporter if you haven't already! (Remember, it may cost $5 to help write comics, but only $1 to read them!)

And speaking of technical difficulties, we have a new Voting Incentive, but it wasn't easy. It was another one of those deals were I lost the first version and had to start over, with waaaay less time. Hope it was worth the scramble! (and yes, I know the brightness/darkness/background stuff isn't right. That's what I didn't have time to fix.)

Ah, old gags like that were funny for a reason!
Fun bit of nostalgia for me there. And kudos to Tax for not running into the open shaft.

Blitzkrieg1701, October 9th, 2015, 7:35 am

Tax probably learned a long time ago to always let Stilez go first, so she can absorb all the damage :)

The reason why Stilez didn't fall immediately was because it took a while before the pull of the gravity plated floor at the bottom of the shaft to effect her.

This is the logic that this joke is operating on for the time being.

Stilez doesn't have the power of slapstick. She has numerous other powers, including gravity based ones. I mean, how else did she grab ahold of that tiny FLYING ship, which could support her weight, and PREVENT it from flying higher?

Heck, you could say that Sillez has reality warping powers of the oblivious nature. In other words, the more oblivious she is to her powers, the stronger they are.

@Darius Drake
I like that theory.
Although, another possibility with that ship is that she stabbed her feet through the floor in order to get leverage.

In other news, I think I'm back. It's been about a month or so?
I hate being sick.
Though we did apparently find at least one person not afraid of Vengeance.

Current incentive:
Someone managed to conquer one of those? Impressive. My usual tactic was to just transfer schools.

Concerning purple flames, you could try burning potassium chloride. Other potassium compounds might also burn purple. I guess any of the potassium salts should work?
You'd have to experiment to see which potassium salt compound would give the best purple colour without getting drowned out by things like standard red flames.

If I'd seriously tried to make sense of Stilez's power level, then latching on to the floor would have been the way to do it. But very little about Stilez is actually serious.

Darius Drake (Guest), October 12th, 2015, 4:28 am

@ Blitz: Thus oblivious reality warping powers. If she ever becomes serious (outside of temporary periods of near-blinding rage), she starts losing powers and becomes weaker. If she continues to be oblivious and happy-go-lucky most of the time, she remains near invincible and immortal.
