...and this is the part where the thirtysomething guy who wears tie-dyed shirts & pajama bottoms most of the day attempts to guess what a teenage girl in the future would consider "dressing up nice".

Anyway, I've got bad news and lame news. The bad news is, sine I'm squeeking this update out right before I leave for Triad, I wasn't able to get a new Voting Incentive finished. The LAME news is that i have to emphasize the "finished" part. I DID manage to get a new incentive drawn, it's scanned into the computer and everything, but there just wasn't time to color it in and post it (and in my infinite wisdom, the joke for this one is largely color-based, so just slapping text on the grayscale pencil version wouldn't work) The GOOD news, such as it is, would be that now next Tuesday's update is guaranteed to have a fresh incentive... which is a good thing, because I totally didn't get Tuesday's COMIC drawn in advance this time, so I'll be playing catch-up as soon as I get home.

Oh, but speaking of playing catch-up, the weekly Patreon comics are FINALLY back on schedule! Yeah, I haven't been talking about the Patreon stuff all that much lately, mostly because all that MAGFest stuff completely threw everything off schedule. But now the only thing that's late is that second MadLib comic (which WILL get done as soon as I don't have 20 other things also screaming for attention)

Is that wonky perspective in Panel 3, or did Layla hit a growth spurt?

Blitzkrieg1701, March 11th, 2016, 5:43 am

It's perspective, compounded by the fact that I kinda got their proportions out of whack (well, more so than usual). I drew Ichabod's head too big, which makes it look like he and Layla are supposed to be the same size.

If I had time, I'd try to scale Layla up a bit... but I'm kind of supposed to be on the road in an hour & haven't even started packing yet.

Darius Drake (Guest), March 11th, 2016, 7:01 am

@ Ichabod: She was in her "lazing around at 'home' clothes". Now she's in her "someone's visiting clothes". She isn't wearing one of her variations on "I need to impress someone clothes" (variations including business, rich-bugger-about-her-age, and rich-bugger-convention, to name a few). Please note, "someone's visiting clothes" also double up for things like "good enough to wear out to the shops clothes", while the "impress someone" clothes rarely double up across the variations.

Dispose of all corpses? Now that's just rude, mr.automated message.

Offensive to the Living-Impaired
@Fellow has a good point here - what if Tabitha has the zombie kids along for the ride? They're bound to be hurt and offended by that! Just because you're deceased, doesn't mean you don't have feelings like everyone else!

Blitz (at Triad) (Guest), March 11th, 2016, 6:28 pm

Actually, I think Tabitha would be more offended that her miraculous, post-life creations might be referred to as common "corpses" in the first place.

Ed8, March 11th, 2016, 7:30 pm

"post-life creations" ha, i love that! much better! :)

though she does seem to be ok with "zombie" which has had some rather negative connotations at times. I guess how you view the term all depends on how recently your planet has had its last zombie apocolypse.

Blitz (at Triad) (Guest), March 12th, 2016, 12:03 pm

It's probably because "zombie" at least assumes that they're animate, which "corpse" wouldn't.

Ed8, March 12th, 2016, 7:24 pm

I am agreeable to whatever term Tabitha prefers, I certainly would not want to make that girl mad at me, she can be very scary when she wants to be, especially if anything is threatening her adorable little post-life creations! (Remember Tabitha, it wasn't me that used that "c" word, it was that horrible mean ship's warning message!)

Number 6 (Guest), March 13th, 2016, 3:05 pm

Layla's exterior dialogue: "blah blah tabitha complain complain bother inconvenience tabitha grumble snark grumble"

Layla's interior dialogue "Squeeeeeeeee! Tabitha's here!!!! Yay!!!! I should wear something new, Tabitha loves new outfits - maybe a blue scheme to match her spaceship effect color, I think she likes blue? I hope she likes it. I hope she notices. Do you think she'll notice?"

Must maintain the aloof Layla cynical facade at all times....
