Let's see, what HAVEN'T I blamed a late page on over the past month or so... OH! Being sick! Yeah, I'm still not sure just what I caught a wiff of yesterday, but I've felt like CRAP since that afternoon. This page was taking even longer than it should have to get drawn, adn that was BEFORE I started nearly falling asleep at the computer. In the face of all that, I decided to go ahead and post a rough draft of the page right now, just in case the finished version and new Voting Incentive take even longer than expected. Either check back here later today or, you know, watch Twitter/tumblr/Facebook for an update. I'm not gonna post today's link until I've finally got the whole thing done... whenever that is (Seriously, I go outside for, like, half an hour and BOOM! Instant physical collapse)

EDIT: Well, that took longer than expected, didn't it? I can at least PARTIALLY blame my having to spend some of Saturday moving things, PARTIALLY. But, yeah, finished page and new Voting Incentive is up. And on that note, I've decided to leave this Incentive up on Tuesday instead of a new one. For one thing, it took so long to get this one up that I want to make sure everyone actually gets a chance to see it. But more than that... well, I've obviously been having trouble getting these things up on time the past few weeks, so I'm gonna take a few extra days to try and get an Incentive buffer built up. (ya know, you'd think it'd be the COMICS that take longer to draw... but no. Weird.)

Who knew Science was so adorable?
Clearly, this is part of Tabitha's quest to canonicalize every vote incentive she has appeared in: http://tinyurl.com/joxkerb

...okay, we need someone to be taking care of Bridget now, too.

A fan (Guest), June 24th, 2016, 6:32 pm

I ship it

Blitzkrieg1701, June 24th, 2016, 11:13 pm

Ed8: Who's been recycling ideas? I certainly don't see anyone recycling ideas!

DD: I actually thought about having Bridget storm off in a huff to find exactly that, but as long as there's even the SLIGHTEST possibility of something being a threat to Tabitha, Bridget's not going anywhere. (This isn't up to me, I have no say in the matter)

PS, I'm feeling way less crappy and should have the finished page & Voting Incentive up in the morning.

@ Blitz: That's understandable. The easy way to deal with this is to move the focus away from Layla's annoyance at this situation, and have her become Bridget's Caretaker, doing that near Tabitha.

The focus could turn to Ichabod (who'll actually be searching for a way to get rid of Stillez), Trigger & Alphonse and/or Avatar & Tax.

I'm running out of words for things that happen in this comic that aren't the word adorable.

@A fan: Of course you do - Tabitha is running a simultaneous experiment to see how much shipping speculation she can create with every single member of the cast simultaneously. It's working!

@Mrs. Hector Vote Incentive: Clearly proving that Kevin was completely off base when he claimed that Dr. Hector married their mom just for her money.

Darius Drake (Guest), June 26th, 2016, 6:07 am

@ Vote Incentive: I hadn't noticed it's update. Opps. Anyway, the comment in the incentive is self explanatory. It's WHY she has such a large chest. Also, she's currently married to a Mad Scientist. Thus, it's possible that she was previously married to a Mad Scientist. Having your Mad Scientist Husband create something that prevents pregnancy stretch marks is entirely possible.

Number 6 (Guest), June 26th, 2016, 11:53 am

@Vote Incentive: Realistically, this is probably not something that requires the skills of a brilliant Mad Scientist. Considering the amount of time/money/research effort we already waste today on products to look slightly prettier, and considering that in this FOT future we have seen that massive body-mods are commonplace, it seems likely that product-to eliminate-all-signs-of-aging-and-make-you-look-20-years-old-forever is probably something you can buy down at the local convenience mart for about the same price as a bottle of soda.

Blitzkrieg1701, June 26th, 2016, 4:19 pm

Just a thing to consider: Augusta and Astrid are supposed to be in the same neighborhood, age wise. And if we're going to take Astrid at her word, then the work SHE'S had done to keep looking like she does wasn't cheap. (Granted, there's several "if"s involved in accepting that, but it's still worth considering)

Number 6 (Guest), June 26th, 2016, 9:43 pm

1. I strongly suspect Astrid was exaggerating, just trying to impress Layla, a younger, cuter woman who kept stealing the attention of men Astrid was interested in. (and doing it with her "natural" talents, which is even worse!)
2. It probably seemed like a lot of money to Astrid. I hear Space Cops don't get paid much. That's just what I heard.
3. We've seen Astrid's "diet and exercise" program (totally canonical vote incentive of her slobbing on the sofa eating cheese-flavored-substance snacks). It's probably expensive for her to look as good as she does because she keeps having to get the treatment redone every couple weeks! :p

Darius Drake (Guest), June 27th, 2016, 7:25 am

@ Number 6: I see a few problems with your suggestions:

1. I can accept those two being the same age. I also want to mention that some people just age better than others.

2. I agree, a lot of money for a Civil Servant is not, necessarily, a lot of money for an incredibly rich person. Hell, it's possible that Augusta's wealth COMES from some of the appearance mods Astrid pays "a lot of money" for.

3. Yeah, I'm thinking that a SIGNIFICANT amount of the "lot of money" in item 2 came from adjusting her metabolism so that she can do things like that (and drink alot) without worrying about side effects (getting fat or getting drunk while undercover. Ohh! And making sure that she's still physically fit/strong even when not purposefully using her muscles). While I suspect that Augusta's health is maintained more traditionally (eating healthily, and exercising quite a bit). Hell, Augusta probably doesn't even think of her exercise as exercise. It's more "helping those who need her help", like with that Mad Scientist Rest Home. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Augusta directly, physically, helps a decent amount of those Mad Scientists move in by moving their stuff to their rooms.
