Okay, if Sunday's page was a misery to draw, THIS one was an absolute delight. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother trying to tell an actual "story" for these comics, my true love is just introducing a constant stream of new characters and unexpectedly bringing back old ones. And today's a weird hybrid of both those things. Go back and look through the previous 25-day Christmas specials, you'll find at least one of those kids on the couch lurking in the background of all of 'em. That's because, for YEARS now, I've been hoping and praying that THIS year would be the year that I find an opportunity to introduce one or both of these characters. Well, 2017 might actually be the year when I pull it off, but I've made them wait long enough that I thought they deserved an actual bit of dialog. Oh, and speaking of which, wait until TOMORROW...

Also, it turns out Clare's married. To an accountant. That's a thing that's established now. Huh.

That's one well made banner! Also, Clare's outfit makes me think of the Hogwarts uniform. It's red too, just right for a Griffindor like her!

The question isn't "When will they be introduced", but "How are you planning on introducing them". After all, they're Nitpickers too, and you can't exactly send two Nitpickers to the same job without reason.

Also, what do you have against Accountants? It's a job where you have to bang your head against a wall to get information at the last minute with the expectation to get everything done instantly and everyone gives US shit for putting square pegs into square holes. Honestly.

Nothing against accountants, just observing that SOME people wouldn't have expected a muscle-bound, gun-wielding woman of action like Clare to hook up with a pencil pusher, that's all.

Accountants, pfft. Those are the guys who are always telling the Brilliant Engineers that they can't build the thing the way it *ought* to be built because blah blah money something something - I usually tune them out after the first few words. They're the whole reason why people become Mad Scientists, because then you only have to deal with Mad Accountants, who are a lot more generous with funding.

Christmas at the Nitpickers Guild would seem likely to be an endless series of arguments over what is the exactly correct way to do each particular tradition, they would take 2 months to agree on the proper way to decorate the tree, etc. And apparently getting drunken nitpickers down from the hanging banners, there's that too.

Hi, Unknown Characters! (waves) See you again next Christmas! ;)
