OH THANKS HEAVENS WE'RE BACK IN BUSINESS. My computer situations is still a bit precarious (it's hasn't actually been "fixed" it just... kinda stopped being broken, so I'll still be having it looked at in the near future) but things are working enough for me to start getting comics done again... sort of.

Yeah, this page is a lot more unfinished than even the usual "posting an unfinished page" situations. Not only is it obviously not colored (and the coloring will involve many layers of glowy color gradients), not only is the line art not fully polished up, not ONLY is the panel layout not finalized yet (the current boring squares are mostly just there to help me place everything and will be swapped out with something more dramatic in the final draft) BUUUUUUT there's actually an important element of the comic that's not in this version. The final draft is supposed to have an oblivious Stilez passing in front of a doorway in the background of the bottom frame, as a reminder of just who Bridget is trying to show up (and to serve as a reminder that Stilez totally hasn't noticed there's a rivalry going on in the first place).

Alas, those computer problems TOTALLY wrecked my schedule for the week, and that was already bonkers crazy with the leftover Otakon comics for Patreon AND the upcoming AWA comics also left to do. Since I've already left you guys hanging ONCE this week, I really, REALLY didn't want to go past noon without SOME kind of update. So tune in later tonight for the finished draft of today page.

(And no, in the midst of all this, I wasn't able to get a new Voting Incentive done. If I can get the Otakon Patreon comics done this weekend, there'll be a new Incentive on Tuesday. IF.)

I did see the unfinished line-art version before, and it looks a lot better now.

Also, it worked this time (I bet Tabitha makes all her things to work when stuff like this is done to them) but usually stabbing the part into the machine without opening it up and putting it in properly would just break both part and machine.

I think if there's another person aware of the supposed rivalry between Bridget and Stilez, it'd be Alphonse.

Also, Ichabod, sorry but nobody is going to help you.

And I'm not sure how you are meant to "clib" up something, but it probably involves explosions.

"Clibing" is what happens when you you try to "Climb" but you have a cold and are all congested :)

(Actually, I'm a bit mystified that spellcheck didn't catch that one. IS that actually a word?)

The isolinear rod has somewhat the same purpose in a Jannettitron as the control rods in a nuclear reactor - it dampens the energy so it doesn't go critical. As long as any part of the rod is inside the Jannettitron it's good.

After all that effort, Tabitha didn't have the heart to tell her the rod is in backwards. (Just kidding, it's clearly a bidirectional symmetrically monopolar isolinear rod, so it would work either way. Bridget obviously knew that.)

Stilez must really, really like Ichabod if the first round of puking didn't dissuade her form continuing to drag him around. Though I suppose someone used to seeing splattered guts all around them has a high tolerance for grossness.

@Blitz: The poor Spellcheck was so discombobulated and bamboozled by "fierfek", "isolinear", and "Jannettitron" that it just gave up on the rest of the passage. No wonder your computer is acting sketchy.

I KNEW it was somehow my fault!

Violently slamming things into other things
Sounds like a particle accelerator. I'm now worried about Tabitha's family having a particle accelerator. After all, if her father has access, there's a good chance it will create black holes like some people thought the LHC would.

Blitzkrieg1701, October 8th, 2017, 9:59 pm

Yeah, but you have to remember that Dr. Caligar's still on his "I'm an alchemist!" kick, so even if he had a particle accelerator, he'd just break it by using it as, like, a cauldron or something.

dylgramac, October 9th, 2017, 12:34 am

That's kind of what I meant. I just figured he'd combine it with some crazy alchemy thing while it was running, after managing to disable any safeties of course. I don't know what that might do combined with whatever else he might hook up would do, but even just streams of particles going near lightspeed escaping their (possibly sci-fi non-magnetic) containment would cause plenty of havoc!

Dangerousness is all relative
A particle accelerator is likely one of the least dangerous appliances to be found lying about the Caligari household. Miniature Black Holes are probably something they keep in a jar in their kitchen cabinet. (They buy them at that store that sells kitten brains previously featured in vote incentives. But only when they're half off, otherwise they're overpriced)
