It didn't occur to me until I started inking this page, but Layla's shirt requires me to write "GIRLS" in a very awkward place

Sorry for the half-finished page, but having a house full of relatives to entertain made it a little hard to get work done yesterday... and having a gut full of WAAAAAAAAAY too much food made it a little hard to work last night. While I guess this really isn't TOO late yet, by Far Out There standards anyway, it's already taken a dangerous amount of caffeine to rouse me from a food coma long enough to even get this done. With a relapse a very real possibility, I figured I'd better go ahead and get SOMETHING posted as soon as I could. Obviously, expect the final draft sometime later today, which among other things will feature WAY more polish and detail in the bridge screen, and a way less sloppy logo on Layla's shirt.

Also, just in case you missed it yesterday (or earlier this morning) don't forget to go see yesterday's Thanksgiving page. AND don't forget the new Voting Incentive, which is also a bit less polished than usual due to the whole food coma thing.

You know something has hit the fan if Ichabod is running *towards* Stilez instead of away!

...you know what? I need to rewrite Layla's dialog in next Tuesday's page to accommodate that observation :D

CptNerd (Guest), November 24th, 2017, 6:07 pm

You might want to rework Layla's shirt, it says "Skysraper Girls", I think you meant "Skyscraper Girls".

Darius Drake (Guest), November 24th, 2017, 8:05 pm

@ Incentive: Let me guess, that game happens every year and every year the boys side get a couple more boys to help out while the girls side stays at 2 girls. And once the boys and girls properly hit puberty, the boys side doubles in size, but halves in competency.

@ Layla: Oh, come on. We all know that you're the best one to deal with the rich brats. Hell, you may already know half of them, if not all of them, personally. The real problem would be causing them to pay attention to you now that you don't have any wealth.

@CptNerd: That really makes the AltHovertext's observation even more ironic, in a creepy sort of way. I think there must have been something off in that turkey....

@Darius re:Layla - Nah, the Galaxy is a huge, huge place, there's no chance of running into someone she knows just because they're rich. No, wait, that's not right, I must be thinking of some other galaxy - the FOT Galaxy is a tiny place where people run into each other constantly! I guess there is a good chance she knows them after all.

(And if not, they're perfect targets for some sort of improvised scam or flimflam to separate them from that money)

@Blitz/dialog rewrite: Oh no! I've inadvertently altered future events! The time cops are sure to get me for this!

Blitzkrieg1701, November 25th, 2017, 3:43 am

CptNerd: Oh, yikes. Fixing THAT right away. You know what's ironic, though? I know for a fact that the "C" was there in the rough draft, meaning it only disappeared when I was "fixing" things.

DD: Don't forget, there's a difference between being a person who happens to have a lot of money and actually being a part of Rich People Society. In fact, people like Layla's family would actually avoid being personally known by the rich fat cats most of the time, it makes it all the more easy to run a scam on them, right?

Ed8: Naw, they're too busy chasing down Tax and that time machine.

For the vote incentive, I just have this image in my head that Astrid throws the ball once and it just ricochets between all of them.

Blitzkrieg1701, November 25th, 2017, 3:42 pm

That is entirely within the realm of possibility (for her, at least).

Also, I just have to point out how much I love responding to a user with a Strong Bad reference for a name when I've been wearing my "YOUR HEAD A SPLODE" shirt all day.

Ed8, November 25th, 2017, 10:12 pm

@Blitz: Wouldn't the rich people know them, or at least her mom, from Patty/Pattie's family, since they were regular Rich People with their Soda fortune? Or maybe they were just such jerks that even the other rich people didn't want to know them.

Darius Drake (Guest), November 26th, 2017, 5:06 am

@ Da Huu...uudge: Actually, I think that Trigger might be able to produce a ball shooter that could do that to everyone in a room as a prank. That is, the shooter shoot a single ball that hits everyone in a room in a mostly harmless manner.

Stefan (Guest), November 26th, 2017, 8:02 am

"Skyscraper Girls" takes on a whole new meaning on Layla's shirt.

Blitzkrieg1701, November 26th, 2017, 3:22 pm

Ed8: I'm definitely leaning more towards the "avoid" option

DD: The irony is, of course, that he'd only manage to pull that off if he was specifically BREAKING something that's supposed to work in a different manner. If he actually tried to build a Dodge-Ball-o-Matic from scratch, it's probably be a dismal failure.

Stefan: Hey, at least it's not a Twin Peaks shirt.
