So, it's been established for ages and ages that Avatar can't consume food or drinks, but waaaay back in the second Far Out There Christmas series ever, we saw her holding a mug of hot chocolate just so she could smell it. Ever since, I've thought off and on that it'd be interesting if Avatar just smelled stuff as a general substitute for tasting it. Somehow, this has been the first time I could do anything with the idea... or, at least, the first time I was thinking about it at a time it was possible to do so.

So, the TWC Voting Incentives have been a day off all month, and the trend continues today. I'm JUST far enough ahead of schedule at the moment that I could either get one extra thing drawn, or go to bed a little longer and actually start waking up in the morning again. I've decided to pursue the later, so there should be a fresh Incentive tomorrow... drawn by a hopefully fresher artist.

@ Comic: I suspect that a fair number of planets have walking trees as a part of their annual Christmas Parade tradition, and, every once in a while, one of the trees goes on a rampage, possibly before it gets decorated, and possibly due to not being decorated. Which is why they have to fight it with decorations.

There would be, of course, also planets, or at least cities, that replaced their Annual Christmas Parade with a "Running of the Bulls" style "Flee the Christmas Tree" event.

But of course! EVERYONE knows that the ornaments and garlands are primarily there to restrain the tree and weigh it down, and the lights are to keep it disoriented!

...I really, REALLY want to expand on this idea now. *writes down for next year*

I'm starting to doubt how well informed Avatar is if she gets her info from STBN.

Also: It's not Phillip Freeman's fault if they failed to follow the proper restraining instructions on the tree! It had a disclaimer!

Avatar probably knows everything there is to know from more reputable sources. But STBN, for all its faults in fact-checking and falling for sensationalism, probably has some of the best on-site camera crews around, so it's still a good source if you just wanna watch some flashy spectacle go down.

for some reason I suspect the camera crews on STBN spend less time focusing on the flashy spectacle and more time focusing on the reporters reporting it. (Jenna still thinks they don't spend enough time focusing on the reporters)
