Another half-finished page? Actually, no. This time the lack of color is deliberate... though it probably shouldn't have been. See, I wanted to have an ever-increasing level of manga action lines with every panel, to crank up the volume of the slapstick. And since I knew from past experience that trying to mix a full compliment of shading and too many actions lines at the same time could make everything illegible, I figured I'd just leave the line art as is. Except, even without any color, all the action lines I's originally slapped on the page still made the whole thing too hard to read, so I scaled the lines back severely... so much so that, honestly, I probably COULD have just colored the whole page in like normal without any problem. But, of course, by the time I realized this, it was too late to go back and re-do anything that extensive.

Well, honestly, it wouldn't have made the page much later than the overall average of this month, but I'm specifically trying to get better about that. I mean, look! It's barely noon! This, sadly, is pretty good for a final draft! And I even gotthe latest TWC Incentive done on time! If I can just get Conventional Wisdom happening more quickly, we'll be in pretty good shape!

...but yeah, either way you can expect Friday's page to be colored in like normal.

EDIT: Also, the middle panel is another one of those ones that makes me glad Far Out There is too obscure to worry about Rule 34. Being small-time has many advantages.

Rule 34... The rule everybody mentions when they actually mean rule 35.

Poor kid. Layla trying to see if he's okay is just making things worse...
(through no real fault of her own)

Avi: WOW! That was so clever the way you faked all those accidents to get Miss Layla to pay more attention to you!

Hiro: Faked WHAT now?

Note to Hiro - Remember: a complete screw-up that succeeds in getting a cute girl's attention is still better than a flawlessly executed move that doesn't!

(Or at least I'm going to keep telling myself that)
