Well... this was an embarrassment.

I'm just gonna cut to the chase here, this is going to eb the only page of Far Out There this week. I've been scrambling to get back on schedule... pretty much since I got back from MAGFest, honestly. At least, that's what it feels like. So instead of going on a doomed scramble to finish an entire page in 24 hours when it just took me around 72 to get one done, I'm just calling this Friday off. I mean, I'm not TAKING Friday off, I'm gonna start working on the next page as soon as I get this one posted. But I'm gonna give myself some extra time to recuperate and get it done WITHOUT the overwhelming stench of doomed panic wafting around me. Actually, I'm gonna TRY to get several pages done over the weekend, which I might actually stand a chance of doing if there's less of a scramble involved. If I can actually, for once, get a real page buffer built up again, them maybe we can avoid things like a sudden stomach bug throwing an entire week's schedule off. I've said it before, and apparently I need to keep saying it because I refuse to listen to myself: I just don't get pages done as fast as I used to, and I NEED to give myself more time to work in.

And hey, as humiliating as the delay may have been, I absolutely think it was worth it for this page. Between that monstrous vacuum cleaner, the absurd labels and signage, and the forced and awkward scifi references, this feels like a page from five years ago! Ya know, back when this comic was good! ...and came out on time!

And speaking of coming out of time... almost, the TWC Voting Incentive technically DID update on Tuesday. Technically. It won't update again until the main comic does, but I've already started to get some extra rough drafts of that penciled in advance. See? Progress is already being made!

If it helps, I'll gladly accept a hearty chant of "CO-MIC GUY! CO-MIC GUY! CO-MIC GUY!" :D

...wow. I honestly wasn't expecting Purple Hair (I'm not remembering their names, I barely remember the main cast's) to be fashion obsessed. Makes sense, they all have their failings related to their focus. Jock is good physically, but obsesses too much on his physical abilities. Blue is charismatic, but cares too much about how people see him. Purple Hair is, apparently, both stoic & fashion obsessed. And Tarkus is knowledgeable about a wide range of things, to the point of caring/obsessing about things most sane people don't have time to even learn about.

Don't feel bad, names are the last part of a character I come up with because I suck at them too. These kids literally were "the one with blue skin" or "the one with pink hair" and so forth for a LOT longer than I ever should have allowed them to be.

Why do I feel like "Annual Designer Fashion Show for the Hungry" is something taken from actual Real Life?
I'm afraid to Google it and become even more disappointed in humanity....
