Those faces were waaaaaaay more fun to draw than they had any right to be.

Anyway, look! Another midnight update! And this one was loaded DAYS in advance! I should really have busy, distracting weekends gobble up my time more often. Paradoxically, the only time I ever seem to get work done is when I know I won't have time to get work done. Anyway, yes, I'll be busy with Animazement stuff by the time you read this, so hello anyone who stumbled onto this comic because you picked up one of those silly flyers! For the rest of you (well, for everyone, really, not sure why I tried to leave new readers out of this) there SHOULD be a new TWC Voting Incentive to continue that concept art series we started on Tuesday... assuming I've swapped out the old one by the time this page goes live. Since I'm commuting to Animazement from home instead of staying on site, there shouldn't be the same update problems we usually have when I'm at a con, buuuuuuuut there's always the chance that this thing will go live before I get around to changing stuff on TWC. Sadly, I'm VERY out of practice when it comes to automatic updates. If you still see the old incentive, just try again later. I promise there IS new art that'll be up eventually.

5/28 EDIT: Okay, I'm back from Animazement, but I brought a lovely case of Con Crud back with me, as if I wasn't going to be exhausted enough already. So, between throbbing headaches and coughing fits, I have NO idea when the next page will finally be done. However, I DID swap out the Voting Incentive, so at least there's a new sneak peek up right now. You can at least look at that!

@ Incentive: Are you sure that's a sciency character, and not another rich bum with more money than sense? He could have paid for the... single gadget he has, and be holding what he is simply so that his gadget can work out what the heck it is.

To be fair, you're implying a distinction between that and a "real" sciency guy that may not actually exist in the Far Out There universe. It would explain a lot.

Laylavision vs. Fanvision
...is in the eye of the beholder, or something like that?

Blitzkrieg1701, May 25th, 2019, 11:11 pm

That is one of my new favorite things in the history of ever.

@ Blitz: On "Sciency Guy": True. Honestly, to a certain degree, I figured that a significant amount of actual "scientists" in FOT don't actually create or discover new things so much as they work out how the Mad Scientists develop their things and manage to reverse engineer it to the point where they don't need the parts that make it a Mad Science Project to work.

For example, that Gold Making Machine that uses Kitty Brains as a power source. With sufficient experimentation and access to other Mad Scientist's inventions, it's possible, if not likely, that the Kitties Brains could be replaced with a specific type of random number generator produced by a different Mad Scientist to hack "unhackable" locks (due to said Mad Scientist's habit of being locked out of his house by the AI he set up to clean the place, but either forgot to make it so that they could or removed the ability to actually do so from due to the mess making more sense to the Mad Scientist than the order the AI made). Either, individually, are Mad Science Experiments made for Mad Science Reasons, but both together makes the "Mad Science" into something that can be considered "Sane".

Every part of that sounds plausible, especially the part about getting locked out of one's own house :)
