Well, I ALMOST managed to get this out on the scheduled day. Normally this would be where I'd get all apologetic for being late again, especially so soon after skipping a day entirely. And, I mean, I really AM sorry you guys had to wait for this... but at the same time, this is actually BETTER than it probably should have gone. In case you skipped over my repeated moaning and groaning, half the reason I took that break when I did was because this week was going to be really busy. Sure enough, I spend the past several days waking up waaay too early, getting waaaay too hot while wearing heavy, sweaty costumes (though I DO love the fact that I live a life where I can not only say stuff like that, but also have to clarify WHICH of the costume-related things I do it's referring to), and generally getting far less sleep than I needed, and by Thursday afternoon it all caught up with me at once. I tried to power my way through working on this page, but I just CRASHED. Combine that with the fact that this is one of those pages that required some major reformatting, to the point that it's basically the first half of the NEXT page, and it really is a miracle that I'm managing to squeak it out just after midnight. I was afraid I wouldn't have something presentable until Saturday evening. So I'm choosing to be proud about this unmitigated disaster, and that's one of the greatest lessons to learn in life, right?

And while it was ALSO late going up, there's another TWC Voting Incentive with some preview concept art!

The Waffle allows Tax to read a Far Out There
strip at the time it is officially scheduled to be posted.

Avatar: Everything's legal when you have infinity money. You should know that.

Darius Drake (Guest), June 22nd, 2019, 4:15 am

@ Tax: From how Blitz keeps "biting his tongue" every time you and some sort of pseudo mental time shenanigans are mentioned, it's probably less about the waffle and more about you just having the ability to see through time.

@ Incentive: Just make it so that his sword isn't a "katana", and all will be fine. If it's a gigantic extendo-Switchblade, it would even explain where he's keeping it. If it's just a sharpened length of metal, I'm perfectly happy with it too. But there's FAR too many people who give character's "Katana" and pretend that it's "the best sword ever". It's not, it's primary design feature was to compensate for being made from garbage-level iron sand.

Let's say the "sword" actually unfolds into some kind of gun, just looking like a blade to throw people off.

Also, what if I keep biting my tongue because I'M using waffles to see what happens in future pages?

And I do believe Ed8 just established the entire legal system of Far Out There.

20 Questions?
Blitz using Waffles to see future pages? Wait...does that mean that Tax is an "Author Avatar"? Or maybe the Author is a "Tax Avatar"? Or Blitz is just a pseudonym, and Tax actually is the Author?! And the preceding is rendered even more confusing by the presence of an unrelated character named "Avatar". And shouldn't the Absolute Void Anti Total Apocolypse Recept-o-tron always be written as AVATAR rather than Avatar?

Blitzkrieg1701, June 24th, 2019, 4:37 pm

HOLY CRAP I wish I were clever enough to have done that on purpose! (I also wish I were smart enough for a character like Avatar to serve as a stand-in for me in general)

Darius Drake (Guest), June 24th, 2019, 6:05 pm

@ Blitz: Actually, reading what Ed8 just said, it's seems to be saying that Tax is a stand-in for you, not Avatar. Because you both, now canonically due to your comment, can see the future by looking through waffles.

@ Ed8: If Avatar wasn't using the abbreviation as if it was a name, sure. Alternatively, there's abbreviations that are treated as if they weren't abbreviations regularly in reality, because typing or writing a word all in caps just seems ostentatious, in an obnoxious way.

Blitzkrieg1701, June 24th, 2019, 6:28 pm

...oh yeah. I shouldn't reply to things after being up for thirty-something hours...

Ed8, June 24th, 2019, 8:12 pm

THIS IS TOTALLY NOT OBNOXIOUS AT ALL
THUS, BLITZ SELF-DEMONSTRATING MY PREVIOUS ASSERTION THAT HAVING A CHARACTER NAMED AVATAR MADE MY STATEMENT EXTRA CONFUSING!

WHICH IS TO SAY THAT TAX WOULD, IN THIS CASE, BE THE "AUTHOR AVATAR", WHEREAS AVATAR WOULD BE THE "AUTHOR'S AVATAR", THAT IS TO SAY THE CHARACTER WITH THAT NAME BELONGING TO THE AUTHOR. WHICH IS ALSO NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE OTHER "AUTHOR'S AVATAR" - THE VISUAL REPRESENTATION THAT APPEARS NEXT TO THE AUTHOR'S COMMENTS. CONFUSING ENOUGH YET?

IF WE TREATED HER NAME AS AN ACRONYM, GRAMMATICALLY WE WOULD HAVE TO PUT "THE" BEFORE IT. THE U.N., THE U.S.A., THE G.N.G., THE A.V.A.T.A.R.
THAT JUST SEEMS WAY TOO FORMAL FOR SOMEONE AS ADORABLE AS AVATAR.

BESIDES, THE A.V.A.T.A.R. DOESN'T NEED TO SLEEP. BLITZ, ON THE OTHER HAND, JUST APPARENTLY THINKS HE DOESN'T NEED TO SLEEP.

Darius Drake (Guest), June 24th, 2019, 10:41 pm

@ Ed8: I said it's ostentatious, just an obnoxious way of being ostentatious. Also, I found out that reading paragraphs all in caps is surprisingly difficult. Which, if I'm going to be perfectly honest, shouldn't be all that surprising, due to already knowing that humans are predisposed to seeing patterns, and use that predisposition to make reading faster and easier.
